Take a look at this book, Tonight on the Titanic, written by Mary Pope Osborne. That is my text-to-self connection. During the book Jack and Annie get trapped in a room and I did not like that part. Jack and Annie go back in time to see if they can save the Titanic from sinking. A boy in 2nd-4th grade would like to read this book. My favorite character is Jack because he is smart and adventurous.In the book Tonight on the Titanic Jack reminds me of my older brother because he likes to play games that have adventure and he has good ideas. The main characters in this book are Jack and Annie. I read a book The Titanic that tells the true story of the sinking and it also says the Titanic sunk April 14, 1912.I really liked this book because it has a lot of adventure in it.
During the book Jack and Annie ride in a boat. I have been on a boat before but not as big as the Titanic. I would not have them get locked in the room because they would have been able to get off the boat faster.
You shouldn't read it. I feel Tonight on the Titanic was so boring. Really, I almost fell asleep while reading it. If you're really tired and need a good night's sleep, start reading this book. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
We ordered the library binding, which is sturdier for all the little hands it will be held by. My son and I really enjoyed this story, and we have the paperback at home. His first grade teacher had been looking in bookstores for this book and couldn't find it, so we ordered it for her. This book has good historical value, and the basic content is accurate, without scaring the children. It's the best "Jack and Annie" book.
